Sky wing (Tian-Yi or Tianyi, 天翼) UAV is a series of Chinese UAVs developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group (CAIG). Three members of the Sky Wing I UAV series have been revealed by their developer, the smaller Sky Wing I or Sky wing 1 (SW-I or SW-1) and its derivative Sky Wing 1H (SW-1H), and finally the much larger Sky Wing III or Sky wing 3 (SW-III or SW-3).
Sky wing I UAV is the first member of CAIG Sky Wing series, and it is a medium UAV of twin-boom layout with twin-tail configuration. Propulsion is provided by a two-blade propeller driven by a pusher engine, and it has a tricycle landing gear.

Sky Wing I UAV is a light multi-purpose UAV developed by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group Corporation. Equipped with vehicle-mounted and catapulted take-off modes, parachute recovery, real-time information transmission, can be widely used in aerial survey, aerial photography, remote sensing, environmental protection and other tasks.
Design features
Sky wing I UAV system is completed according to the requirements of the existing military aircraft development system of CAC, from design to material procurement, finished product development, manufacturing, testing, test flight, have a complete quality control system for control. The whole machine body structure adopts carbon fiber composite material, with light weight, high strength and stiffness, long fatigue life and other characteristics. In addition, the machine adopts the buffering system with patented technology of CFC, which is flexible and convenient to use. At the same time, parachute recovery has a unique and complete flight safety guarantee measures. The whole aircraft system has full functions and excellent performance. The system configuration is reasonable and simple, and the flight quality reaches the highest grade in GJB: First-class flight quality.
Overall layout and aerodynamic characteristics
Sky wing I UAV adopts the normal layout of high aspect ratio/trapezoidal mid-upper single wing, streamlined short cabin fuselage, double tail support, double vertical tail and propelling propeller. The total length of the aircraft is 2.465M, the aircraft height is 0.97M, the fuselage length is 1.727M, and the wing span is 4.179M.
